“We are a communications consulting and copywriting agency in Riga and were referred to Macushla by a colleague. And it was love from the first task! Truly, not only does Macushla smooth out and improve the flow of any text. She also contributes her vast erudition and academic expertise to bring each piece of writing to a whole new level. On top of it, she’s always on time and a pleasure to communicate with.”

"The issue of translating German sentences correctly into English is and remains a problem, even if one has a relatively good command of the language. I am very grateful to you for the excellent work and will now be able to send the novel to print with a clear conscience. Once again, thank you for your efforts and the perfect proofreading."
Copyediting
As an experienced copyeditor, I can offer a command of English punctuation, spelling, grammar, diction and usage.
Addressing sentence structure, outline, word choices, flow, tense and consistency, I work with you to optimize your writing and ensure a clean and correct text.
This line-by-line level of editing is performed with the track-changes tool in Microsoft Word documents.

Proofreading
Your manuscript has already been professionally edited at sentence level and may even be typeset for publishing.
A proofread is the final tidy-up to ensure no errors have slipped through and its correctly formatted.
At proofreading level, I'm equally comfortable working with PDFs as with Microsoft Word docs.
Citation Control
Academic writing must adhere to publishers' house styles or follow the preferred style guide of a university or journal. I offer a citation control service which will cross-check in-text citations / footnotes and the bibliography, and format them in line with the required style guide.
I am familiar with all style guides which are used most in the Arts and Humanities in the UK and US, including the Chicago Manual of Style (CMoS), Associated Press Style (APA), Modern Language Association (MLA), Harvard, and the New Oxford Style Manual.
